  • TIPS
when hanging art over a sofa or other piece of furniture, it should not be longer than the width of the furniture. the general principle is about 75 percent of the width of the furniture piece. artwork should be hung so that the center of the piece or grouping is at or about eye level for the average person. while this won’t be possible with every situation, it is something to keep in mind. when combining photographs, test the arrangement before hanging by laying everything out on a large table or on the floor. play with the combination until you find a grouping you love.

  • LEDGE DISPLAY
this is a great solution for limited space, using frames of various sizes. overlap and stagger the height of frames for variety. this display makes it easy to mix up the photographs every now and then.

  • GALLERY DISPLAY
a collection of photographs of different sizes in one grouping. group the photos tightly, with about one or two inches between frames. if you have a lot of framed prints, you could fill the space of a wall or above a sofa.

  • HALLWAY DISPLAY
this simple look works great in a hallway or above a sofa or table. the frames are usually the same color and general shape and hung in a straight line—aligning either the top, bottom or center of the frame.

  • STAIRWAY DISPLAY
use similar style frames or don’t. to make this arrangement most pleasing to the eye, hang the photographs in a diagonal line, following the same angle of your staircase and keep frames and the same distance from one another. anchor the display with a large focal frames then accent with smaller frame sizes. use similar style frames or mix and match.
